Frequently asked questions
How does pricing work?
Every project is different, so there's no fixed price list. The initial consultation is free and no-commitment: we pin down what you need together, then you get a clear quote. Hosting, support and integration with your existing systems (ERP, Business Central, etc.) are discussed based on the project's actual scope.
How long does a typical project take?
Depends on the complexity — a small internal tool can take anywhere from a few days to about a week, a deeper ERP integration can take longer. We'll talk specifics at the consultation, once the need is clear.
Do you work remotely?
Yes. I primarily serve St-Jérôme and the Laurentians, but most of the work happens remotely, with in-person meetings when they help.
I'm not sure exactly what I need yet — is that a problem?
Not at all — that's exactly what the free consultation is for: figuring out the real need before talking technical solutions.
Do you work with my existing systems (ERP, Dynamics 365, accounting software)?
That's a big part of what I do: integrating new tools with what you already run, instead of ripping everything out and starting over.
Who hosts and manages the solution once it's done?
Either works: I can hand off the finished solution for your team to host and run themselves, or I can take care of everything — hosting, backups, maintenance — end to end. No in-house IT team? Not a problem. A full IT team already in place? Also not a problem — we work around what you've already got.
Do you offer support after launch?
Yes, we figure that out based on what you need — some clients want ongoing support, others are happy to be self-sufficient once the solution is in place.
I'm looking for an alternative to Excel for tracking projects — does this apply to me?
Yes, that's exactly the kind of case where a custom tool makes a real difference. It's what I built for a client who was tracking projects in Excel and couldn't get reliable billing out of it anymore (see TaskForge above): a real system with projects, milestones, and tasks, instead of a spreadsheet that becomes unmanageable over time.
My current system (ERP, accounting, etc.) doesn't talk to my other tools — can you fix that?
That's a big part of what I do. Instead of replacing everything, I integrate your existing tools (ERP, Dynamics 365, accounting) with what your team actually needs, so information flows without manual re-entry.
I have an old system or a homegrown tool that has become unmanageable — what do you do in that case?
We look together at what should stay and what needs to change, then I build a custom solution around that — not necessarily throwing everything out. The goal is fixing the real problem, not starting from zero on principle.
Do you do customization directly within Business Central?
Yes — extensions, custom fields, custom reports, and integrations with your other tools, directly within Business Central. That's a big part of what I do for clients who already run Dynamics 365.
Do you also build mobile apps?
Yes — either a native app or a mobile-optimized web app, depending on what fits your context and budget best. It's often paired with integration into your existing systems rather than staying an isolated tool: the field app for veterinary technicians above (see "Field app, dispatch, and billing") runs on their phones and syncs directly with Dynamics 365 Business Central.
